Joining is truly easy
All that’s required to join the Palatine Pickleball Club is an interest in pickleball and a desire to
affiliate with a club that welcomes everyone and strives to enhance its members’ pickleball
experience. While many members play in town fairly regularly at least half the year, quite a few hit
our courts for only a week or two a year. Some have moved away. Some never expected to
play here but want to keep abreast of our activities. We even have a handful of members who
have yet to hit their first serve. These are enthusiasts with pending surgeries or other things in their
lives which prevent immediate participation. We even welcome those who are just curious and want
to read and see what’s causing all the fuss about pickleball.
JUST GO TO THE “CONTACT US” TAB, and provide your name, e-mail address, phone number, street address, your date of birth, and your level of experience or skill rating.
You’ll receive a welcoming e-mail within a day or two.
Part of our rapid growth is due to our being so welcoming to beginners.
We sort of embrace the Emma Lazarus quote on the Statue of Liberty.
To paraphrase that for our purposes, “Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to play freely.”
Some clubs or players at open courts can be a bit elitist, and that’s not meant as a condemnation.
We all like to play where the competition is relatively compatible with our abilities.
Due to the number of players in the Palatine Pickleball Club, and our desire to keep all games pretty competitive, our Picklers can easily find (or be assigned) games that are fun for everyone on the court.
The vast majority of our experienced
members are happy to show newbies the ropes and help them with their games.
