We are an extremely welcoming and nurturing club. Regardless of experience, age, or ability,
you’ll love being a Palatine Pickler. While at least 80% of our members are at least 50, we
have some as young as 10.
Many of our members come from more than 20 miles away to play with us, passing other playing options along the way. One reason is we have equitable playing time for all, and, when numbers justify, we separate competitive and rec players. A Pickler can rack up to play in either cage. If they win three in a row in rec, or lose three in a row in competitive, they then rack up with the other group. For outdoor play get your name upside down on both sides of your paddle where the handle meets the blade. For indoor play get your name on the very top of your paddle.
Though not an affiliate of the Palatine Park District, we do work with them to best reach our mutual goals.
They provide all the indoor and outdoor courts on which we regularly play. In June of 2019, we had our Grand Opening of the six Hamilton, outdoor courts with lights until 10:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. These may be the most beautiful courts in the suburbs. With two cages of three courts, we let players decide where to start. If they lose three games in a row in the competitive cage or win three in a row in the rec cage, we ask they go paddle up in the other cage – at least until they should come back.
If you have yet to try the country’s fastest-growing sport, Palatine is a great place to get
started. Let me know you’re coming, and I’ll make sure there’s an extra paddle for you. You
can reach me by clicking the “Contact Us” tab or emailing me at PalatinePicklers@gmail.com.
Pickleball is the easiest paddle or racket sport to learn, but it’s usually described as the most
complex and most addicting. Hope you join us, and thanks for visiting our website.
